In 2020, AIGA KC’s partnered with COGRID-19 to create a grid for Kansas City benefitting the Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund. The project brings together 19 artists from a city, each contributing to a shared grid representing their time in quarantine.

In approaching this piece, I thought of what I’ve experienced this year. It was all summed up by the phrase in French “tu me manques”, which means “you are lacking from me”. Physical activism, communidad, sociality has all been lacking from me.

I find myself longingly looking at the stars when thinking of what I miss in these things. Though they are still present, they are only a shadow of what they used to be.
